Overview

About

Clark University is a private institution of higher learning; located in Worcester, Massachusetts. It is one of the first modern research universities in the United States and was founded in 1887 with a significant endowment from its namesake, renowned businessman Jonas Gilman Clark. The university has international students from more than 80 countries making up 15% of the Clark community, which is a truly global one. It has 20 students on average per class, and there are 10 students on the faculty. The LEEP (Liberal Education and Effective Practice) educational model, developed by Clark, encourages learners to extend their learning beyond the classroom and acquire the skills needed to turn their learning into a worthwhile return on investment.

A WOO card, which entitles holders to discounts at local attractions, baseball games, and Wachusett Mountain ski resort, is available to all Clark students. The free intercampus shuttle is available to Clark students as well as those attending Becker College, Assumption University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester State University, and College of the Holy Cross. Additionally, students can board to travel to the nearby train and bus station, Worcester Public Library, and Worcester Art Museum. There are about 130 clubs and organisations available to Clark University students on campus, but there is no Greek system at the institution.

Students at the university place a lot of emphasis on research. Undergraduates are urged to get involved, and each semester, at Fall Fest and Academic Spree Day, students display their work. Sigmund Freud delivered his renowned Clark Lectures on psychoanalysis on campus in 1909, and university researchers have made discoveries that led to the development of the birth control pill and the formula for the wind-chill factor, among other things. The performance artist Blue Man Group's cofounder Matthew Goldman and the former CEO of XM Satellite Radio Hugh Panero are some notable alumni.

Facilities

Let us talk about Clark University facilities in this section. The most popular one is the library! The physicist from the uni who developed the rocket technology that allowed for space travel has his name honored in the Robert Hutchings Goddard Library. At the centre of the university is the library, which also houses the Academic Commons. Over 30 student employees work in the library alongside 18 librarians and other professionals. The University Archives and Special Collections, Academic Technology staff, Jazzman's Café, Clark Ride, and the Writing Center are also located inside the structure.

A café, computer labs, and group study spaces were added to the library building's 2009 renovation, which was a landmark of brutalist architecture originally built in 1969. There are 98 hours of library hours and 147 hours of academic commons hours each week. Clark offers a stable computer environment and infrastructure. All campus facilities, including the residence halls, are connected by a high-speed data network at Clark; academic buildings, outdoor areas, and residence halls all have wireless internet access. The majority of classrooms have multimedia audio-visual equipment, and there are numerous student-used small-group study and collaboration areas across the campus. Access to specialist software used in classes and certain disciplines is made available through computer laboratories and a high-performance computing cluster. All academics, staff, and students have access to a Zoom licence and Microsoft Office 365, which offer tools for productivity, collaboration, and cloud storage.

While some students may have the opportunity to make use of scholarships, not all students cut the eligibility to get a scholarship or a grant. Moreover, not all scholarships cover 100% of your study abroad expenses. At such times, most students resort to acquiring education loans to avoid the financial hassles associated with studying at the Clark University. For Indian students, UniCreds is the ideal education loan marketplace if you’re looking for low-interest rates and free consultation services!
