Chatham University is a private university located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1869 as a women's college and became coeducational in 2015. Today, it has a total enrollment of approximately 2,200 students with an acceptance rate of 54.5%.

 

There are 45 undergraduate programmes and 32 graduate courses at the university. There are also integrated programmes for some subjects which are Communication, Teaching, Creative Writing, Film and Digital Technology, Food Studies, etc. Some popular programmes here are Health Professions, Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Psychology

Business, Management, Marketing and Social Sciences. All of these courses are offered through its 3 organised schools:

Facilities

The institute includes three campuses in Pittsburgh: Shadyside Campus, Eden Hall Campus, and Chatham Eastside Campus. The Shadyside Campus is lush with vegetation. It is a 32-acre campus with 115 plant kinds. Eden Hall Campus is a 388-acre campus that was among the first around the world to adopt a sustainable strategy to energy, water, food and agriculture, air quality and climate, and the interplay of natural and constructed systems. The university has approximately 50 student groups that enhance student life by providing leadership opportunities, and sponsoring on-campus events, and other activities. Library Facilities - The library was named in honour of Jennie King Mellon, a philanthropist who was a major supporter of the university. The library has a collection of print and electronic books, as well as access to a wide variety of online databases, journals, and other resources. It also has a number of specialized collections, including the Women's Studies Collection, the Archives and Special Collections, and the Pennsylvania Collection. The JKM has a variety of spaces for students to study, including quiet study areas, group study rooms, and computer labs.

 

Dining Facilities - Eden Hall is where many students are seen having meals on campus. Parkhurst Dining provides students with a variety of delicious and wholesome food options, as well as meal plans that focus on well-being and are tailored to accommodate today's students' busy lifestyles. They hope to make eating on campus convenient and appealing by providing a variety of options that emphasise fresh, local foods, as well as vegan and vegetarian meals and gluten-free options.  

 

On-campus Residence - For the first two years, students are obligated to stay on campus (four semesters). The Eden Hall Campus includes only one hall, Orchard Hall. The Shadyside Campus has a variety of lodging options namely: Dilworth Hall, Fickes Hall, Laughlin House, Rea House, and Woodland Halls are the residence halls on the Shadyside Upper Campus. Chatham's Upper Campus living halls include rooms with a bed, desk, and dresser for each roommate. Each unit has a bed, desk, dresser, couch, dining room table and chairs, and a coffee table. Graduate students on the Shadyside Campus are not housed by the institution.

Chatham University Entry Requirements

Whether you're a first-time applicant here, an undergraduate student seeking advanced status, or a returning student re-enrolling after a break, the admissions standards are the same for all applicants.
