Champlain College is a private college located in Burlington, Vermont, USA. It has a diverse student population from across the United States and over 20 countries. It initially opened as Burlington Business School in 1878 to prepare young men for business studies. Finally, in 1958, the college took its current name and took its current name.

 

It was founded in 1878 and offers undergraduate and graduate programmes in various fields such as business, computer science, creative media, cybersecurity, education and human studies, game design, law, psychology and more. The college provides 30 majors and 26 specialisations to choose from. There are also 12 online courses, 20 undergraduate certificates and 4 associate degrees.

Facilities

Champlain's campus comprises forty-two buildings spread across approximately 2.5 city blocks in Burlington. The majority of the student housing halls are Victorian-era houses that have been refurbished. There are other many facilities on campus whose information is given below:

 

IDX Student Life Centre - The dining hall, gym, fitness facility, lounge, and game area are all located here.  Students at Champlain have complete accessibility to campus computer labs, 3D animation and game production labs, multimedia classrooms and editing suites, a digital photography lab and darkroom. Along with the Metz Studio Barn, the Emergent Media Centre, and the Senator Leahy Centre for Digital Research. Champlain opened its Makers' Lab in 2014, followed by the new Communication & Creative Media building in 2015.

 

On-campus Residence - Every one of the campus residential halls houses roughly 40-50 students, and they are dispersed around the campus from south to north. The newer housing on campus include Juniper Hall, Valcour Hall, Butler Hall, Lakeview Hall, Adirondack Hall, Boardman Hall, and 308 Maple Street. The college also offers apartment-style housing with one, two, three, and four-bedroom suite-style residential options.  All types of lodgings include basic furniture and furnishings, laundry facilities, study areas, and recreational areas. Depending on the kind of lodging, kitchen facilities are either shared or private.

 

Dining Facilities - PennWest California dining options includes an all-you-can-eat Gold Rush dining centre, as well as a food court and coffeehouse, Sycamore Bistro and Chick-fil-A Express. There is even an online booking option, so students may make an order and have their meal ready and wait for them when they arrive. Dining memberships and meal plans are available to both resident and commuter students. All students living in residence halls are required to enrol in the meal plan programme. Student feedback is used to make decisions about menus, hours of operation, and serving procedures.
