Central Connecticut State University is a public university located in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. It was founded in 1849 as the State Normal School and has since grown to become a comprehensive university with over 11,800 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programmes. The campus sits on the outskirts of New Britain, just minutes from the state capital and of New York and Boston. The institution includes a 165-acre campus with 40 buildings that provide cutting-edge technology, large study areas, and recreational areas. Library - The Elihu Burritt Library officially opened in 1972. The main library has 97,375 square feet of addressable space with seating for over 800 people, and over 73,000 bound volumes, including 114,000 periodicals. There are now 557,000 microforms, comprising 18,000 reels of microfilm and over 15,000 media format pieces. In addition, the library offers 55,000 current online and print journal subscriptions, as well as more than 200 research databases in a variety of fields. The Polish Heritage and Gender Equity collections, as well as a unique book collection of 16,000 volumes, provide specialised research materials. 

 

On-campus Residence - The university houses more than 23% of its students in its 10 residence halls. On-campus accommodation is exclusively provided to full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Students are able to apply for on-campus accommodation using the Web Central portal and must pay a USD 250 deposit. The application deadline for housing is May 1st.
