Acceptance Rate

California State University - East Bay acceptance rate is 96%. With such an accessible admission policy, the university opens its doors to a vast majority of applicants. While a 96% acceptance rate suggests relatively uncompetitive entry requirements, admittance does not guarantee an easy path to graduation. Students still need to have adequate preparation to thrive academically despite the open admissions standards.

This school had a high acceptance rate, admitting 82% of applicants during the 2021-2022 academic year. Its retention rate was 80%, with four out of five full-time students from Fall 2020 persisting to Fall 2021. However, the six-year graduation rate stood at 48% for first-time students. This graduation rate may not fully capture outcomes for the likely sizable adult learner population beyond traditional first-time students.
