Buffalo State University, officially known as the State University of New York at Buffalo State College, is a public college located in Buffalo, New York, United States. It was founded in 1871 as the Buffalo Normal School to train teachers. It has since evolved into a comprehensive college with a range of undergraduate and graduate programmes.

Facilities

The SUNY Buffalo campus has 29 structures, including student centres, academic buildings, sporting facilities, office buildings, and housing halls. All of the university’s facilities are offered in these buildings. Some of the major ones are listed below: 

 

Rockwell Hall - The dance and music departments are housed in Buffalo's iconic structure, Rockwell Hall. The Donald Savage building houses the theatre department's editing rooms, computer lab, and television studio. 

 

Science and Math Complex - The Science and Math Complex (SAMC) is a research and development facility. It boasts a wonderful three-story structure flanked by research labs and faculty offices.

 

Ketchum Hall - At this hall, students are provided with English programmes, college writing programmes, and superior education. 

 

Technology Building - Computer information systems, fashion and textile technology, and electrical and mechanical engineering are all housed in the technology building. It features cutting-edge labs where students can receive hands-on learning experiences.  

 

Upton Hall - The art design department is housed in Upton Hall. The structure houses studios, a 3-D digital manufacturing facility, a tech hub, and creative spaces such as theatres and art galleries.
