The Associate of Science Degree in Nursing is designed to prepare the student for a career as a registered nurse. The mission of the Broward College Program of Nursing is to prepare competent, caring, culturally sensitive, entry level nursing graduates for meaningful employment as professional registered nurses. Striving for academic excellence, the faculty provides an innovative program, recognizing both the art and the science of nursing while utilizing the Outcomes and Competencies outlines by the National League for Nursing.

This framework includes advocating for clients, utilizing evidence-based practice in clinical decision making, implementing nursing care that is focused on ethical, responsible, and honest behaviors, and evaluating all care rendered, while challenging the status quo in an informed manner to bring about change where needed to enhance the care of the client. The program is committed to accomplishing this mission through the use of effective and diverse instructional methods that encompass both traditional as well as technology-based strategies.
