The Associate in Science Degree Dental Hygiene Program is designed to prepare the student for a career as a Registered Dental Hygienist. The Dental Hygiene program is a unique 1 + 1 program format and is designed to offer students employment skills as both a Certified Dental Assistant and a Registered Dental Hygienist. Students must first complete the 12-month Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited Dental Assisting Program within the State of Florida. The Dental Assisting program must be listed in CODA database of Florida accredited dental assisting programs.  Graduates from a Florida CODA-accredited Dental Assisting Program who have successfully completed the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Examination and met the program prerequisite requirements are eligible to apply to the 12-month Dental Hygiene Program.
