The AS degree in Criminal Justice is designed for students who hope to work in the field of law enforcement, corrections or public safety. The AS degree in Criminal Justice provides students with a valuable credential when applying for such jobs as police officer, corrections officer, state trooper/state officer, US Customs/Immigration inspector and community/police service aide. The AS degree does not qualify students for state certification as a law enforcement or corrections officer. To become certified as a corrections or law enforcement officer a student must complete a Florida state certified Basic Recruit Training Program (Police Academy or Corrections Academy).
