Brigham Young University - Idaho is a private university located in Rexburg, Idaho, United States. It is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and is one of the largest private universities in Idaho, with a student population of over 34,000. The university was founded in 1888 as Bannock Stake Academy and later became Ricks College in 1923. In 2001, it was renamed Brigham Young University-Idaho and became a four-year university offering bachelor's degrees. The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

 

BYU-Idaho offers over 87 undergraduate programmes across various fields of study, including business, education, health sciences, humanities, and social sciences. The 400 acres of campus lie on a hill overlooking Rexburg and the Snake River Valley, with nearly forty significant buildings and residence halls. A planetarium, an arboretum, and geology and wildlife museums are all part of the main campus. The college also manages a number of athletic fields as well as accommodation facilities on campus.
