Black Hills State University is a public university located in Spearfish, South Dakota, United States. It was founded in 1883 as a normal school, which was a type of teacher-training institution. The university is organised into three colleges through which it offers its multidisciplinary courses:

The Black Hills State University campus spans 123 acres and includes 20 main buildings, as well as Ida Henton Park and Lyle Hare Stadium. Residence facilities - This university provides on-campus housing for students in one of its co-ed residence halls and the Yellow Jacket Apartments.
