It was founded in 1902 by Martha Berry as a school for children from low-income families in the surrounding area and has since grown into a four-year college offering undergraduate degree programmes. The university campus is located in northwestern Georgia, near the city of Rome. The university encompasses more than 27,000 acres of land, comprising farmland, forests, and Lavender Mountain, earning it the name of the world's largest college campus. On-campus Residence - The Dana/TB Area, The Ford Area, The Morgan/Deerfield area, The Morton/Lemley Area, Alternative Area and The WinShape Area on Mountain Campus are the six residential facilities on campus at Berry’s. Suites are only available for upper-class students and are found at Centennial Hall, Thomas Berry Hall, and Townhouse.
