About
Arkansas State University originated from an agricultural school established on April 1, 1909, by Act 100 of the 37th Arkansas General Assembly. It was established as a member of four Arkansas high schools to educate agriculture, horticulture, and the skill of textile making. Today, the university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees through its many colleges. A-State addresses the challenge of remaining a destination institution for over 14,000 students by combining world-class research with a strong legacy of student-friendly education.
