Andrews University is a Seventh-day Adventist institution of higher education located in Berrien Springs, Michigan, United States. The university is named after John Nevins Andrews, a Seventh-day Adventist pioneer who was the first Seventh-day Adventist missionary to leave the United States to work abroad.
The university was founded in 1874 as Battle Creek College in Battle Creek, Michigan. In 1901, the college was moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan, and was renamed Emmanuel Missionary College. In 1959, the college was given university status and was renamed Andrews University in honour of John Nevins Andrews. The acceptance rate of the university stands at 6%.
