Discover how both Literature and the wider field of Media have the power to change the world, influencing our behaviour, views and identities.This joint honours degree lets you explore many different forms of media text. You will read different styles, genres and voices in literature. At the same time you will engage with diverse forms of media; from film and television to advertising and digital media. Through this combination of subjects you will refine your skills in analysis, critical thinking and communicating your ideas.

In both Literature and Media, we are concerned with how texts and different forms of popular culture are formed by and have an impact upon the world around them. You will investigate the styles, techniques and artistic decisions behind these texts. However, you will also always be thinking about their relevance to the political, social and historical contexts they are part of.
