The University of Strathclyde (also known as UOS or Strathclyde) is a public research university in Glasgow, Scotland. It is Glasgow's second-oldest university and was established in 1796 as the Andersonian Institute. It was given its royal charter in the year 1964 as the first technological university in the UK.
