• EMHP Supervised Skills and Practice

Degree requirements    

Bachelors degree with a minimum overall mark of at least 50-65% depending on your university.
 

Subject-specific requirements
   
Your qualification can be in any subject. No prior knowledge or experience in mental health is required. You must have experience and knowledge of the School system in the UK. You should demonstrate an interest and desire to work with children and young people with mental health difficulties. You must also show an interest in developing education in practice, therapy and skills fundamental to mental health care with children and young people. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic)  Standard level (6.5 overall, including at least 6.0 in each component).

Home students:

£11,500 per year for full-time students
 

Channel Islands and Isle of Man students:

£11,500 per year for full-time students
 

International students:

£18,975 per year for full-time students

As this course is linked to a new and rapidly expanding national role (education mental health practitioner), we expect there to be a high demand for Education Mental Health Practice PGDip graduates.
 

On graduation, you’ll have the right balance of knowledge, skills and clinical experience for jobs within the field of mental health support in educational contexts. Future employers could include the NHS, and the education and community/voluntary sector. You can also choose to undertake further professional mental health/therapy training.
