The University operates a credit framework for all taught programmes based on a 15-credit tariff. Modules can be either 15, 30, 45, 75 and 120 credits, and additionally for some masters dissertations, 90 credits.

A minimum of 50 per cent in a UK honours degree in Civil Engineering (or other related Engineering, Management or Science subjects), or equivalent recognised international degree. Applicants will be considered on an individual basis, based on strength in specific subjects related to the MSc Programme and/or professional experience.
 

English language requirements

IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with 6.0 in Writing and 5.5 in each other element.
 

Postgraduate

To apply for one of our postgraduate courses that require a UK 2:1, you must achieve at least 60% or 65% in the final two years of your undergraduate study depending on the institution you have completed your degree.
 

To apply for one of our postgraduate courses that require a UK 2:2, you must achieve at least 55% or 60% in the final two years of your undergraduate study depending on the institution you have completed your degree.
 

For courses that require a UK first-class degree to be eligible for a scholarship, you must achieve at least 65% or 70% in the final two years of your undergraduate study depending on the institution you have completed your degree.

• If you are on an unstructured self-paced part-time course, the fee shown is per 15 credits for the 2022-23 academic year. The fee payable in subsequent years will be reviewed annually.
