• Required subjects: Biology or Chemistry at grade B and a second science or Mathematics.

• Please note: A-level General Studies and A-level Critical Thinking are not accepted.

• GCSE or equivalent: English Language and Mathematics at Grade C(4) (or equivalent).

• Foundation year: A-level CCC (or equivalent) to include one Science A-level.

• GCSE or equivalent: English Language and Mathematics at grade C(4) (or equivalent).

Minimum standard in English and mathematics

If you are applying for an undergraduate course at Surrey, you must meet our minimum standards for English and mathematics.

English:
 

• Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard XII , English 70% from CBSE or ISC exam boards 

• Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard XII, English 80% from the majority of Indian state boards (excluding Andhra Pradesh/Telangana/U.P/Bihar/Gujrat/Punjab).

Mathematics:
 

• Standard XII, Mathematics Pass

• All India Secondary School Examination, C2

• Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination, 6.

English language requirements
 

• IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with 6.0 in Writing and 5.5 in each other element.

• Safety equipment and/or uniform: £20 – equipment pack (includes laboratory coat, laboratory glasses, laboratory book, pen and padlock). You are responsible for the costs associated with maintaining/washing/replacing any equipment.
