Program Overview

As a teacher of history, you’ll bring the past to life and teach your pupils how historical events can be interpreted in a variety of ways sparking passionate debate and the development of a range of skills. Full support will be given throughout the course by an experienced history specialist to enhance your classroom practice. The course sets you up for a successful teaching career regardless of your chosen destination. This course is a professional training course which qualifies you to teach secondary education.

  • For entry to Strathclyde postgraduate programmes, we'd look for a first-class undergraduate degree (approx 60%) from a recognised Indian institution.
  • Although 60% is a general entry requirement we understand that the marking system in some states and national universities make it harder to achieve 60%, therefore we will accept 55% from University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, University of Delhi etc.
  • Graduates from the IITs and IIMs will also be considered with marks in the region of 55%. If you wish to apply for a research degree you'd normally have to have a Masters degree and some experience of research work.
