Program Overview

This MSc recognises the need for skilled graduates to address the world’s major issues in electrical power and energy systems. It offers an integrated programme that delivers advanced-level traditional power engineering subjects, complemented by a range of modules that are critical to the management of a modern energy system.

The balance of knowledge in fundamental power engineering, distributed energy resources, and technologies that enable greater system visibility will equip students in essential skills to lead the industry in the process of transformation to a sustainable energy future.

  • For entry to Strathclyde postgraduate programmes, we'd look for a first-class undergraduate degree (approx 60%) from a recognised Indian institution.
  • Although 60% is a general entry requirement we understand that the marking system in some states and national universities make it harder to achieve 60%, therefore we will accept 55% from University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, University of Delhi etc.
  • Graduates from the IITs and IIMs will also be considered with marks in the region of 55%. If you wish to apply for a research degree you'd normally have to have a Masters degree and some experience of research work.
