Program Overview

This integrated 5-year Masters course provides in-depth learning and additional research opportunities for highly ambitious and motivated students.

The course is identical for all students in years 1 & 2. In year 3 students must take an advanced Mathematical Physics module. In year 4 students take a Level 5 Research Skills module, and in the final year 5, students will undertake a 100 credit project which starts during the summer holiday between years 4 and 5.  

  • For entry to Strathclyde postgraduate programmes, we'd look for a first-class undergraduate degree (approx 60%) from a recognised Indian institution.
  • Although 60% is a general entry requirement we understand that the marking system in some states and national universities make it harder to achieve 60%, therefore we will accept 55% from University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, University of Delhi etc.
  • Graduates from the IITs and IIMs will also be considered with marks in the region of 55%. If you wish to apply for a research degree you'd normally have to have a Masters degree and some experience of research work.
