The University of Stirling LLB offers in-depth knowledge and understanding of legal principles, theories, institutions and rules – as well as the wider social and political context in which law operates. Essential subjects
- To apply for a combined degree in French and Spanish, you'll need one of French or Spanish at Higher or A level.
- Students should note that taking two languages from beginners' level where those languages are core to the programme is pedagogically inadvisable. Any student wishing to go down that route will need the written permission of both the French and Spanish Programme Directors or their appointed representative before being allowed to do so.
Direct Entry to 1st Year:

Year 12 Grade – cumulative score of 65% and above from the following state boards:

  Students who score 70% in English in Year 12 from the following exam boards won't be required to submit IELTS, if studied within the last 5 years of our course start date:

- Metro state boards (Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal)
- Students from other state boards will either need 80% in English if studied within 5 years of the course start date, or a UKVI SELT, IELTS Academic or PTE Academic, depending on the state board, taken within 2 years of our course start date.

Career Prospect
The LLB degree is your first major step towards practising Law professionally. Our LLB graduates have gone into a range of careers, and we have alumni at law firms like Pinsent Masons LLP, Brodies LLP, DWF and CMS Cameron McKenna. Meanwhile, others have gone on to work in a wide range of alternate sectors, with employers including Morgan Stanley and the Royal Bank of Scotland plc.

Graduating with the Stirling LLB will enable students who want to become Scots lawyers to apply for entry to the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. This is offered by a number of universities, and is the next stage towards qualifying as a lawyer in Scotland. Students who want to practise law in England and Wales will have to complete a postgraduate conversion course.
