Core modules

Invisible Architecture (DAT701)
The module provides a foundation for the DAT programme introducing a variety of development tools, different models of 'space' and new digital 'architectures' to underpin the development of student's critical and practical approach to the use of online and offline networked technologies.
 

Synthesis (DAT702)
The module seeks to continue the principle of critical practice or embedding theory in practice. It requires students to produce a 'synthesis', - perhaps, but not necessarily, formed through the resolution of the contradiction between argument and counter argument. It is expected that the work for this module will form part of the research stage for future work (in particular, at the 'Project' stage).
 

Project/Dissertation (DAT703)
The MRes Project is student lead and negotiated through close liaison with an allocated supervisor, and developed from a student's particular interest in an aspect of the MRes Digital Art & Technology. The MRes project comprises of a significant digital art & technology research activity that should be creative and experimental in its approach and placed within a critical theoretical context through a project, dissertation, viva and research output.
 

Every postgraduate taught course has a detailed programme specification document describing the programme aims, the programme structure, the teaching and learning methods, the learning outcomes and the rules of assessment.

UK/EU
 

A relevant degree with honours or an equivalent professional qualification. Other qualifications accompanied by substantial experience in an appropriate field may also be considered. Non-standard applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
 

International
 

International applicants will be required to provide evidence of their English language ability, for example by achieving an IELTS score of 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in each element) or equivalent, see our English language requirements. Pre-sessional English language courses are available if you do not meet these requirements.
