Program Overview

The Modern Statistics and Statistical Machine Learning CDT is a four-year DPhil research programme. It will train the next generation of researchers in statistics and statistical machine learning, who will develop widely-applicable novel methodology and theory and create application-specific methods, leading to breakthroughs in real-world problems in government, medicine, industry and science.

Course Content
Modules:
- Bayesian Modelling and Computation
- Statistical Machine Learning; and
- Modern Statistical Theory.
Entry Requirement
As a minimum, applicants should hold or be predicted to achieve the following UK qualifications or their equivalent:
- A first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, engineering or a closely related subject.
