Module details

In addition to the mandatory Legal Research Training, LLM students at Liverpool must select at least 3 taught specialist modules to the value of 60 credits from the list of module specialisms (see below).  These required modules may vary slightly from year to year, and are chosen because of their particular contemporary relevance to the specialism of International Human Rights Law.
 

The remaining 60 credits may be taken from any Masters programmes offered by the school.
 

Six x 20 credit modules, plus 60 credit dissertation within International Human Rights Law.

A levels    

• AAA including Mathematics
• Applicants with the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) are eligible for a reduction in grade requirements. For this course, the offer is AAB with A in the EPQ.
   

GCSE  

•  4/C in English and 4/C in Mathematics

• For applicants from England: For science A levels that include the separately graded practical endorsement, a "Pass" is required.
   

BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma    

• Acceptable at grade Distinction* alongside AA at A level including A Level Mathematics.
   

BTEC Level 3 Diploma    

• Distinction* Distinction* in relevant BTEC considered alongside A Level Mathematics grade A. Accepted BTECs include Aeronautical, Aerospace, Construction, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Engineering.
   

BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma    

• BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma – Not accepted without grade A in A Level Mathematics.

The Liverpool Law School offers a 12-week Legal Research Training to all students on LLM programmes as an integral part of LLM teaching at Liverpool. It is a forum for contextualising and enhancing the development of research skills, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and academic writing skills that occurs in substantive modules, and more explicitly provides practical and relevant advice on advanced academic research technique that will help you engage with your studies more effectively.
