Program Overview

Zoology is the study of animals at all levels, from their evolutionary origins, their molecular and cell biology, physiology, diseases, behaviour and ecology. Zoology also encompasses the management and conservation of animals in light of the contemporary threats of habitat loss, climate change and human exploitation.

This course provides you with an insight into a wide range of animals and their role in a human-dominated world. You can choose to study animals, including humans, from a broad perspective, such as their parasitic infections, development, behaviour, nutrition and sustainable agriculture, welfare and conservation. In carrying out an independent research project, you'll also be introduced to the design and statistical analysis of your own experiment, which will provide transferrable skills to medical and veterinary data and literature.
