Enterprise and Entrepreneurship MSc

Introductory modules explore the concepts of enterprise and entrepreneurship and their role in society. You’ll examine how enterprise is seen around the world, and how different geographical and economic contexts create challenges for new ventures.
 

You’ll hear first-hand from successful entrepreneurs during guest lectures and consider their experience of the latest topics and debates. You’ll also develop your understanding of research methods in business and enterprise studies.
 

The course has a practical focus, and you will work on a range of projects that allow you to gain real experience – you’ll create a business plan for a new venture and deliver a consultancy project for an established business or social enterprise.
 

In the final semester, you’ll complete a dissertation project on a research question of your choice - this can be used to explore your own ideas for a business venture or social enterprise, look at how best to support or grow an existing firm, or explore a topic related to your ambitions.

A bachelor degree with a 2:1 (hons) in any subject. A background in business or management is desirable, but applicants from other disciplines are welcomed.

English language requirements

IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any component.

Our MSc Enterprise and Entrepreneurship is designed for those who aspire to start their own business or social enterprise, develop an existing family firm or start a career in consultancy, corporate venturing or business development.

Students on this course have the opportunity to engage with successful entrepreneurs as part of our Enterprise Ambassadors initiative and our Small Business Growth consultancy project.
