Dental Materials MSc

When studying Dental Materials, you'll be required to complete a total of 180 credits in order to complete the course. These credits are gained by successfully completing the taught component of the course (90 credits) and the research project (90 credits). Your modules include:

• Innovation management in practice (15 credits)
• Dental materials (20 credits)
• Additive and subtractive cad manufacturing in the digital workflow (10 credits)
• Assessing composition-structure relationships (10 credit)
• Biomaterials for regenerative dentistry (10 credits)
• Research project (90 credits)
   

Early modules deepen your understanding of the philosophy of research, ethics, and ethical approval, good practice in research, and research methodology. You'll also gain an understanding of contemporary dental materials, also some core aspects of digital data and its uses. This will prepare you to undertake your own individual research project in materials.

Applicants must hold either a:

• Primary Clinical Dental qualification which entitles them to register as a dental practitioner with the General Dental Council in the UK (or)
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2.2 or equivalent) in a subject related to medicine or 3D visualisation or a dental degree.
   

English language requirements

IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any component.
