How do people think, perceive and feel? Psychology is the scientific understanding of human behaviour that opens doors to a wide range of careers, from clinical, business and forensic psychologist to social work and roles in marketing, public relations and human resources.

Our British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited degree enables you to confront the issues that humans face with psychology's scientific principles. From brain injury to prejudice reduction, child development to offending behaviour and rehabilitation. We provide you with the tools to develop interventions for hospitals, schools and businesses, making a difference to society through innovations in policy and research.

Course Content
Stage 1

Fully realise the interplay between psychological theory, research, and application. Explore the historical development of the subject to its current theories and methods.

You take all compulsory modules and then choose two elective modules from across the University. The School of Psychology offers two elective modules: Introduction to Forensic Psychology and Business Psychology: An Introduction.

Compulsory modules currently include
- PSYC3000 - Introduction to Psychology Statistics & Practical (30 credits)
- PSYC3010 - Introduction to Biological and General Psychology (30 credits)
- PSYC3020 - Introduction to Social and Developmental Psychology (30 credits)
- PSYC3130 - Psychology Research Participation (Stage 1) (4 credits)
- PSYC3141 - The Psychology of Successful Learning (6 credits)
Stage 2

Train further in the methodological skills appropriate to psychological investigation. Plus, focus in on genetics and physiology, individual differences, developmental change, attitudes, conflict and relationships.

You take all compulsory modules in Psychology. These modules, together with the final-year project, are required for professional recognition by the British Psychological Society.

Stage 3

Apply the tools and skills that will help you make an impact through our extensive range of research-led modules and your independent research project.

You take all compulsory modules and then choose four from a list of optional modules, allowing you to follow specialist interests and benefit from staff research expertise.

Entry Requirement
The University considers students for undergraduate study who have completed Standard XII Higher Secondary School Certificates (Indian School Certificate/Intermediate Examination Certificate/Higher Secondary School Certificate /All India Senior School Certificate).
We typically require students to achieve a minimum of between 65% and 75% overall in their Standard XII examinations, depending on the examination board and the intended programme of study. Some courses may state specific subjects and grade requirements.
