About
The University of Kent is a public, semi-collegiate research university in Kent, England. The university has over 6,000 students on its main campus in Canterbury, as well as a campus in Medway and European postgraduate centres in Brussels and Paris. It was founded in 1965 and is known as Beloff's plate glass university. The university was given its Royal Charter in the year 1965. The Duchess of Kent, Princess Marina, was assigned as the university's first chancellor. The University of Kent operates four campuses in Canterbury, Medway, Brussels, and Paris. The campus spans 300 acres and is well-connected to both the city centre and London. It has outstanding academic, residential, and dining facilities.
The Medway Campus is located on the site of a former naval base near the towns of Chatham and Rochester. The campus is split into two parts: Dockyard Chatham and Pembroke. The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, the Student Hub social space, the Drill Hall Library, centres for professional practice and journalism, the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research, and the School of Computing are all located in Pembroke. The Medway campus of Kent Business School and the Centre for Music and Audio Technology are both located in the Dockyard. The Canterbury Campus, located in Parkland, houses six academic divisions, the Gulbenkian Arts Centre, the Templeman Library, and the Mandela Building. The university has come a long way from having six academic divisions to winning two Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education in eleven years.
The university collaborates with 388 other institutions globally. The University of Kent - Medway courses are offered at undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. Facilities
The campus reinvents a former naval base as a 21st-century study space with exceptional facilities and student support. Medway campus is close to Rochester and Chatham and has two locations, Pembroke and The Historic Dockyard Chatham. It has a capacity of over 600 students. The University Of Kent - Medway facilities also include the following-
Student Services: The university provides a wealth of resources to help you make the most of your university experience. The Student Learning Advisory Service can assist you with study skills, time management, and other issues. If you have a disability or need help with emotional or mental health issues, the well-being team can assist you; there is also a free and confidential counselling service.
Housing Services: Medway's rooms are all en suite and are arranged in flats of five to eight people. They are managed by Unite Students and shared with students from Canterbury Christ Church and Greenwich universities.
Library Services: The Templeman Library in Canterbury and the Drill Hall Library in Medway both have extensive print and online collections. There are hundreds of study spaces and zones for various types of study; if you need advice from librarians or IT support, you can borrow a laptop.
ICT Services: The university provides support and training to help you develop your IT skills, and you can even earn a certificate to add to your CV. It offers free antivirus protection for computers and laptops, as well as a selection of free and discounted software. Wi-Fi is available on all of the campuses, including the campus buses.
Medical Services: The University Nursing Service cares for in-patients, provides a minor casualty service, and assists students during the academic year. On campus, there is a pharmacy. The Medway students can register at the Gillingham practice.
