About

The University of Essex, in collaboration with Kaplan International Pathways, offers degree preparation courses for international students. These pathway courses enable students to progress to undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at the University of Essex upon successful completion and satisfactory attendance. These are the three pathways programmes to choose from:

 

  • Foundation Certificate
  • International Year One
  • Pre-Master's

 

All degree preparation courses are offered at the University of Essex International College which is located on the University's Colchester campus. This allows students to feel like a part of the University community before progressing to their degree. Additionally, students will have access to all of the University of Essex's facilities and resources.

 

The College's welcoming staff are committed to making the experience as rewarding as possible. They provide students with guidance, inspiration and support to help them succeed during their time at the International College. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in organised social events and activities, such as sports tournaments and visits to local attractions.

The University of Essex offers state-of-the-art medical skills labs, rehearsal spaces and contemporary lecture halls. The Clifftown Theatre and Studios is located across town and acts as a popular venue for East 15 students' development and performances. The University also owns the Corbett Theatre, a fully functional theatre, a large workshop, a paint shop, a prop shop and teaching facilities. Roding House also has rehearsal spaces, a sound recording studio, and a video editing suite.

The standard entry requirement, or "pathway," for many UK university courses is either A-Levels, the International Baccalaureate or equivalent school leaver certificates. Students  will be eligible to apply to the UEIC, only after they have these documents. Otherwise, these are the University of Essex International College entry requirements for the academic year 2024-25:
