This programme provides an excellent opportunity to study global developments in the field of crime, criminal law, justice and security.

 

This MSc is ideal for students with a background in criminology, international relations, law, politics, governance studies or sociology. As a student on this programme, you will have access to the expertise and insight of our active community of researchers, international scholars and local practitioners. The programme is truly interdisciplinary, with teaching provided by academics from both the School of Law and the School of Social & Political Science.

 

The two compulsory courses on the programme introduce you to different forms and contexts of global crime and how we respond to these, whilst the wide range of courses allows you to tailor the programme to your areas of particular interest.

  • CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination (SSC), CISCE Indian School Certificate (ISC) Standard XII: overall 80% with three subjects at 75%.
  • Award of Certificate with five subjects at Class XII, with an overall average of 80% or above and minimum 80% in all required subjects (or 85% where we require a grade A at SQA Higher). Grade XII CBSE Applied Mathematics is not accepted to meet a Mathematics subject requirement.
  • Award of Certificate with five subjects at Class XII, with an overall average of 80% or above and minimum 80% in all required subjects (or 85% where we require a grade A at SQA Higher).
  • Advanced entry direct into Year 2 of many of our Science and Engineering degree programmes is possible for applicants who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement in the Higher Secondary School Certificate, but only where awarded by CBSE or CISCE. Advanced entry is offered into Year 2 to students from India with the relevant Indian boards. For advanced entry applicants must achieve the award of Certificate with minimum of five subjects at Class XII, with an overall average of 85% or above and minimum 85% in all required subjects as stated in our prospectus.
