Program Overview

It offers a range of courses and allows you to tailor your studies to suit your interests and take advantage of the experience of our staff, and those in related programmes in history, classics and geography. You will develop an in-depth understanding of archaeological methods and theories, their links with the historical, social and natural sciences, and aspects of archaeological practice.

The programme prepares you for a professional role in archaeology or further study at doctoral level.

Course Content
Our wide-ranging programme encompasses theory, methodology and practice. You will undertake a varied schedule of learning, including:

- individual supervisions
You will complete two compulsory courses and select a further four options from a wide range on offer. We will help you to develop your research interests and choose a suitable dissertation topic.

Entry Requirement
CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination (SSC), CISCE Indian School Certificate (ISC) Standard XII: overall 80% with three subjects at 75%.
Award of Certificate with five subjects at Class XII, with an overall average of 80% or above and minimum 80% in all required subjects (or 85% where we require a grade A at SQA Higher). Grade XII CBSE Applied Mathematics is not accepted to meet a Mathematics subject requirement.

Advanced entry direct into Year 2 of many of our Science and Engineering degree programmes is possible for applicants who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement in the Higher Secondary School Certificate, but only where awarded by CBSE or CISCE. Advanced entry is offered into Year 2 to students from India with the relevant Indian boards. For advanced entry applicants must achieve the award of Certificate with minimum of five subjects at Class XII, with an overall average of 85% or above and minimum 85% in all required subjects as stated in our prospectus.
