The module will provide you with an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of ways in which the industry players pursue their strategies under conditions of market uncertainty, oil price volatility, and changing regulatory environment. The module reflects on challenges and opportunities faced by the industry players and seeks to provide practical solutions and recommendations for an effective change.
Governing International Oil and Gas
The module will you with a conceptual and empirical introduction to international political economy of oil and gas. In particular, the module focuses on external environmental challenges facing the sector such as the role of the national and international oil companies, states and markets, geopolitics and technology. The module provides an opportunity to evaluate past and present industry challenges to understand key emerging trends to provide the business with industry-focused recommendations and solutions.
Innovation, Sustainability and Transition in the Oil and Gas Sector
The module will introduce you to theoretical and empirical framework to analyse evolving nature of oil and gas sector. In particular, it focuses on transformational change presented by innovation, sustainability and transition of strategies, policies and processes in the oil and gas sector. Drawing on the conceptual underpinning the module provides a petroleum (oil and gas) sector-specific overview introducing students to major themes and debates.
Managing Sustainable Global Value Chains
You will gain an appreciation of sustainable value chains and their importance to societies, economies and firms. You will learn how this key capability can be fostered and managed in the current environment. You will also gain a thorough grounding in the management of marketing and supply chains, and how these can contribute to sustainability.
Mental Wealth and Applied Research
This module provides the opportunity for you to demonstrate the ability to diagnose and investigate a live, complex business issue from a variety of perspectives, to locate the work within the body of contemporary knowledge, to collect and analyse data, to derive supportable conclusions and to make practical and actionable recommendations for change, improvement or enhancement of current practice.
Applied Business Project
The aim of this module is to enable you to conduct a live applied business project. This could include a work-based project, report on internship or placement (paid or unpaid), business simulation, Bloomberg project, project management report, or case study.
