Program Overview

MRes Bioscience is offered by University of East London UK. The course duration is 12 months.

Unlike traditional MSc courses, the University of East London's MRes in Bioscience is designed specifically to provide you with the best opportunity to develop and demonstrate key skills for a career in research.

A third of the course consists of a Research Skills module and an optional module that you will choose from a long list, which will either develop your research skills further or offer specialisation in a particular element of bioscience.

The remaining two-thirds of the course is dedicated to the completion of an individual research project within one of the highly respected research groups in the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience.

You will be supervised throughout your project by a highly qualified and experienced director of studies. To complete your MRes you will need to make an oral defence of your submitted project to examiners.

We also offer an intermediate qualification of a PG Certificate.

Dissertation

In this module you will learn how to lead and manage your own research project on a health-related, discipline-relevant topic of your particular interest, and write a report on the findings. You will also learn how to apply key project management skill for the timely completion of your project, and how to analyse the contributions that an area of research makes to the existing knowledge base.

Entry Requirement
Students must have at least a 3-year Second Division Honours Bachelor of Arts, Science or Commerce (minimum length 3 years), or BEng, BAgriculture, B Laws, B Medicine, B Dentistry (3 years Bachelor of Arts, Science or Commerce, BTech etc - i.e. not Honours also acceptable) and have scored an average of 50% or above from the following Universities: Delhi; Mumbai; Pune; Kolkata; Chennai; Anna; Bharatiyar; MSU Baroda; Bangalore 55% or above from all other recognised institutions.
