Developing Academic Skills
The main aim of this module is to equip you and develop the academic skills necessary to study at an HEI. This includes an introduction to the structure of higher education and also the learning and study skills necessary to produce quality pieces of work.
Developing Academic Literacy
The aim of this module is for you to develop confidence and autonomy through ‘learning by doing’ process. It will help you develop your academic literacy, appropriate academic voice and skills and to express argument(s) by using credible academic sources. Additionally, it helps you to apply theoretical concepts/positions in their coursework and also to demonstrate these properly in written form. It is also designed to ensure you understand the concept of academic integrity and associated protocols and the use of Word and referencing tools such as Endnote.
Mental Wealth: Employability in a Changing World
The main aims of this module is to familiarise you with the qualities required to identify, secure and retain graduate employment in an environment of rapid change.
Inside Business
This module is designed to give you a broad introduction to the main functions within a business, and assess how associated decisions are made. The aim is to provide you with an understanding of the relevance of these key topics in preparation for future studies in Business or its associated specialisms.
The Global Business Enterprise
This module aims to offers you with a sound base in business and enterprise and support further studies. The module is built around developing your knowledge of the environment within which business, enterprise and entrepreneurship operate and will give you a solid scaffolding for expanding their knowledge of the area.
Connecting to Business and Employment through Volunteering
This module provides you with the opportunity to engage in an activity as a volunteer in a social enterprise or charity. The experience will enable you to witness business processes practice and enables you to identify and try different styles of work. The activity itself will offer you with valuable networking opportunities, the development of employability skills, and experience that can enhance your CV.

Fundamentals of Economics
The module aims to enable you to develop an understanding of the basic economic concepts, theories, ideas and tools and their real-world application.
Business Statistics and Data Analysis
The module aims to deepen your knowledge of relevant mathematical concepts and statistics used in the business world.
People and Organisations
This module will introduce you to the variety of work organizations. You will also understand and explore the psychological, sociological and economic explanations of human behaviour in organisations.
Fundamentals of Business Accounting
This module will develop and prepare you for entry into the professional workplace or further studies in accounting and finance. As part of this module, you will learn and develop a sound basis of theory and principles, accounting techniques and skills necessary as a foundation for further study and practical experience in accounting.
Business Law
This module will provide you with knowledge of the constitution and forms of business entities. You will understand the relevant principles of UK law and the legislation governing the formation, structure, and operation of a business and its obligations. As part of the module, your will explore the legal obligations of a professional practitioner and of a professional practice in respect of employees. As you study the module and attend the law clinic, you will be able to analyse problems confronting a business, identify applicable legislation and apply appropriate legal principles.

The module will equip you to succeed in both your studies and subsequent career. This includes the development of individual non-cognitive intelligence; digital proficiency; and cultural intelligence.

CORE MODULES
Intermediate Microeconomics
This module will deepen students’ understanding of economic concepts in the areas of microeconomics. This module introduces tools that are fundamental to all the various forms and extensions of economics and is extremely useful for making decisions in business, government, and everyday life.
Intermediate Macroeconomics
This module will deepen your understanding of economic concepts in the areas of macroeconomics. This module introduces tools that are fundamental to all the various forms and extensions of economics and is extremely useful for making decisions in business, government, and everyday life.
Financial Economics
This module considers the main theoretical and applied aspects of the finance discipline. The main aim is to deepen your understanding of the workings of national and international capital markets and the interaction between such markets and economic units, such as households, firms, financial institutions.
International Economics
This module is designed to expand your knowledge of contemporary developments over trading relations in an international sphere, with emphasis on different theoretical approaches as well as contemporary developments in the global financial system.
Introduction to Econometrics
The module aims to provide a good understanding of the theoretical foundations of econometrics, and to equip you with the statistical tools to analyse empirical data.
Mental Wealth 2: Graduate Employment Competencies
This module will provide you with the opportunity to document the development of core employability skills and allow students to acquire tangible evidence to support your employability narrative at interviews.
Year 3
CORE MODULES
Behavioural Economics
The aim of this module is to present you with the principles and methods of behavioural economics, contrasting them with those of standard models. The module will also critically examine the rapidly growing literature in behavioural economics and explain the policy implications of behavioural approaches.
Applied Econometrics with Introduction to Programming
The aim of this module is to deepen your knowledge of how to predict macroeconomic and financial variables such as inflation, growth, consumption, and return on financial assets, and to create econometric models and programmes that can be used to forecast responses to economic and business policy. This course complements the knowledge acquired in the introductory course in data analysis and econometrics.
International Political Economy
The module will develop a critical appreciation of issues related to globalization, European integration and the power-shift to Asian economies, such as China and advance an understanding of monetary and financial institutions in macroeconomics and the way in which they interact with sovereign executives and democratic politics.
Applied Economics Project
This module will develop your knowledge and understanding of research methods, with a focus on the economics domain. The heterogeneous nature of academic approaches deployed in these fields is explored, and various research methods and methodologies are examined and situated within an explicatory framework.
Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics
The aims of the module are to develop a critical appreciation of the key principles of business ethics, corporate responsibility/citizenship and sustainability, and the relation of these to the workplace and encourage you to critique theories of management and leadership from the perspective of ethics.
Mental Wealth 3: Global Enterprise and Consultancy Practice
This module will develop core employability skills and allow you to develop and demonstrate skills in (i) the analysis of a problem (ii) planning and organising a task, including time management (iii) exercising judgement in the light of observed and published data (iv) compiling a report, (v) teamwork and collaboration and (vi) use of appropriate technologies.
