MSc Clinical Neuropsychology

The MSc consists of six units (120 credits) and a 60-credit Clinical Practice Dissertation that delivers the equivalent to the QiCN portfolio requirements.
 

The taught content consists of six units (total of 120 credits). Four of the units are taught via lectures (total of 100 credits). A further unit (ten credits) focuses on a clinical case report; you must select one of your own cases in order to submit an assessed case report and deliver a presentation. In the sixth unit (ten credits), you will explore important peer-reviewed papers and engage in critical discussion. Each critical discussion will be preceded by a candidate presentation providing a critical summary of a particular paper.
 

All lectures are streamed live on the internet and recorded for you to replay at any point. There are four week-long teaching blocks that are spread throughout the course. You will have two week-long teaching blocks a year (one in around Autumn and one around Spring) if you are studying part-time. You are encouraged to attend in-person but this is not mandatory. Otherwise, weekly lectures are delivered online meaning you can take the course from home or work, and exams will be held online.

To be considered for admission to a master's degree programme at the University of Bristol, the minimum requirement for entry is an undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree that is equivalent to a UK upper second-class degree (also known as a 2:1).
 

• We understand that the majority of candidates from India have been taught in English throughout their education. Many departments will accept CBSE or CISCE English at 80% or above in lieu of another English test, with an MOI letter confirming that English is the teaching language of your institution.
• The majority of our master’s programmes require a first class degree (60% or higher) from a recognised Indian university, with specific grades depending on the institution. Competitive programmes may require first class with distinction. If you would like advice relating to your specific qualification, 
• We are aware that at many of India's elite higher education colleges it is very rare to be awarded a first class. For this reason, a number of our departments may be willing to consider candidates from top colleges who have achieved 55% or above.
• Applicants wishing to be considered for research study at Bristol should have a first class pass in their Indian bachelor’s degree and some research experience. It may also be advantageous to have completed a master’s degree with research elements.
   

You must have a UK Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology (or international equivalent recognised by the BPS) and registration as a practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You must also demonstrate how you meet the Research Competencies requirement for the programme. In addition, applicants with a Counselling Psychology doctorate must demonstrate Generic Competencies in Clinical Neuropsychology.

The MSc is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Neuropsychology and successful completion provides both the knowledge and practice competencies required for entry on to the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN).
