Program Overview

Specialise in aerospace design, performance, analysis and systems. Develop the engineering skills for a career in the aerospace industry.In your first two years of study, you’ll focus on learning the core mechanical engineering principles and the role of a professional engineer. You’ll explore how to incorporate design into the science, manufacturing and management elements of engineering so that you can build, analyse and test a product.

Building on this, you’ll go on to specialise by studying areas including aerodynamics, stability and control, propulsion, structures and performance. To develop a full understanding of aircraft from design to manufacture, you’ll work with professional engineers from an aerospace manufacturer and take a flight test course at a local airfield.

Your personal statement should explain your motivation for choosing this degree and any relevant non-academic interests and achievements. You are more likely to be successful if you demonstrate a keen interest in topics relevant to both computer science and mathematics through relevant reading, extracurricular or co-curricular activities, or work experience.

Strong performance in Mathematics is essential, both in your entry qualifications and any previous study. If you are studying A levels we strongly prefer that you take a full A level in Further Mathematics, which forms part of our typical offer. Offers are available for applicants who have only studied Further Mathematics at AS level or have not studied it at all. Also prefer applicants who have previously studied Computer Science, however, you do not need to have done so to be suitable for this course.

Higher Secondary School Certificate (12th Standard)
- An average of 85% across four subjects with 85% in Mathematics and Physics.
- Do not accept Physical Education as one of these four subjects.
- These requirements are for the CBSE and CISCE boards.
- A levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma
English language requirements

You will normally need one of the following:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in all components
- IELTS Indicator: 6.5 with 6.0 in each component
- TOEFL IBT: 90 overall with a minimum 21 in all 4 components
