Course structure

Occasionally we make changes to our programmes in response to, for example, feedback from students, developments in research and the field of studies, and the requirements of accrediting bodies. You will be advised of any significant changes to the advertised programme, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Compulsory course units

These compulsory units are currently being studied by our students, or are proposed new units.

Semester one

Semester one content is shared with our related course, MSc in Engineering Business Management.

You will take these units:
 

• Engineering management for sustainable value
• Management practices for engineering
• Project and change management
• Leadership and skills development for engineering management

Semester two
 

• Technology management
• Commercialisation of new technology
• Creativity and innovation
• Leadership and skills development for engineering management (continued from semester one)

Indian qualifications
Typically, we require a Bachelor degree with a final overall result of at least First Class. However, due to the number of different grading scales in use, we ask that you upload a copy of the grading scale used by your institution, along with your transcript, when you submit your application.

Type of degree
 

• Engineering, management or another relevant subject.
• If you studied your undergraduate degree in the UK your qualification must be equivalent to a 2:2 or above.

Work experience
In exceptional cases, relevant work experience may be a substitute for the degree requirement. You should have no more than three years’ relevant work experience.

English language requirements

IELTS

You will need an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of at least 6.5 overall. Your scores for reading, writing, listening and speaking must be at least 6.0.

These results must be no more than two years old from the start date of your MSc course.

Overseas students

Tuition fee for the academic year
£25,000

Legal information

You should budget for an increase of up to 5% each year for every further year of study; we will not increase your fees each year by more than this percentage and the amount will be set out on our fee page in December for the following academic year.

If you aren't paying your fees in British pounds, you should also budget for possible fluctuations in your own currency.
