About
The University of Liverpool (abbreviated UOL) is a public research university with its headquarters in Liverpool, England. It was established in 1881 as a college but only received its Royal Charter and the right to grant degrees in 1903. The university is also recognised as one of the six "red brick" municipal universities and was the first to be called The Original Red Brick. It has three faculties with 35 departments and schools within the university. It is a founding member of the N8 Group for scientific collaboration, a member of the Russell Group, and the university management school has earned three different types of accreditation. The university provides students with 400+ undergraduate and graduate programmes, and 100+ postgraduate research opportunities.
The institution founded Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in 2006, being the first in the UK to do so. This gave it the distinction of being the first Sino-British university. Liverpool had $597.4 million in the revenue year 2020-2021, of which £112.5 million came from grants and contracts for research. Of all the universities in England, it has the seventh-largest endowment. The post-nominal letters Lpool are styled on university graduates to denote the school.

The institution is primarily centred on a single urban campus at the summit of Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant, which is around five minutes walk from Liverpool City Centre. It is spread across 100 acres and has 192 non-residential structures with 69 lecture halls, 114 classrooms, and research facilities. Club Teaching Hub:
The Lecture Theatre Block (LTB) and teaching facilities (Central Teaching Labs, known as CTL) for the Departments of Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences are housed in the Central Teaching Hub, a sizable multi-purpose structure on the university's Central City Center Campus. At an estimated cost of £23 million, it was finished and formally opened in September 2012. The main structure, known as the "Central Teaching Laboratory," has seven different laboratories with a combined capacity of 1,600 students and is designed around a sizable atrium. There is also a multi-departmental teaching area, a computing centre, flexible teaching space, and shared workspaces within. There are four lecture rooms and additional social areas in the nearby University Lecture Block building.

The university has students enrolled in over 450 programmes covering 54 subject areas, making it a research-based institution. The university’s School of Medicine was founded in 1835 and is currently one of the largest medical schools in the UK. It offers a wide range of teaching and research in the arts and sciences. The University of Liverpool’s acceptance rate stands at 14% with more than 31,000 students enrolled at the university, out of which 7,300 are international students. The university's alumni and former faculty include nine Nobel Prize winners, and it provides more than 230 first-degree courses in 103 fields. University of Liverpool Entry Requirements
Most undergraduate programmes at the UOL accept applications until June 30; postgraduate programmes accept applications on a rolling basis. Undergraduate students can use the UCAS Portal with an application fee of £25 whereas postgraduate students can use the University Application Portal which is free of cost. The deadline for the fall intake is during the month of August. All applicants for undergraduate programmes must show they have a strong general education that includes acceptable levels of literacy and numeracy, which are typically equivalent to at least a grade C at the GCSE level in both English and mathematics.
