About

The University of Kent is a well-known semi-collegiate public research university with its main campus in Kent, United Kingdom (formerly known as the University of Kent at Canterbury). It is known as Beloff's plate glass university and was founded in 1965. Sponsors of the University of Kent submitted a proposal for the establishment of a university in Canterbury to the University Grants Committee in 1960. Following the proposal's approval, an interim committee was formed in 1962, and the institution was given a name. The university was given its Royal Charter in the year 1965. Just 500 students and 150 employees were present when the college opened its doors that academic year.  Today three of the institution's campuses are located in Kent. Six colleges, the Templeman Library, the Gulbenkian Arts Center, and the Mandela Building are all located on the Canterbury Campus, which is the main campus and is located in Parkland. Excellent links are available to both the city centre and London from the 300-acre property. It offers first-rate dining, housing, and educational facilities.

The institution offers a wide range of postgraduate and undergraduate degree programmes in a variety of subjects, including English, philosophy, social sciences, history, music, science, pharmacy, finance, medicine, law, sports, journalism, psychology, anthropology, and economics.
