QS World University Ranking 2024:

University of Glasgow has shown excellence by securing =87 spot on the global scale.

The university has always been aiming to improve and excel, and all their hard work has paid off.  In the Scientific Women's Academic Network, the university was awarded the bronze prize. The institute has also been driven towards the United Nations' sustainable development goals with promising plans and strategies. The ranking and QS rankings have placed the university in the top 20 for sustainable development. Apart from this, the university has received the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize for higher education. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, the University of Glasgow fared well. Since the last evaluation in 2008, the proportion of world-leading research has more than quadrupled to 31%, and Glasgow was placed 12th overall in the UK and second in Scotland. This advancement was made throughout the University's four colleges.

The facilities present at the university give a very fulfilling stay to the students present. The university has facilities to support academic as well as extracurricular activities and both of them are equally refined. The large campus of the university has enough area to keep adding more facilities as the years add on. Some of the University of Glasgow's facilities are -

• The university library or the main library has over three million books, 51,900 electronic journals, and other important artefacts. Students have to produce their ID cards to borrow books for credit-bearing courses. Besides, this library is the oldest and largest library in the whole of Europe.
• The university has a strong affiliation towards sports with numerous sports groups. The Stevenson Building includes features like a six-lane pool, competition sports hall, squash courts, cycling studios, etc. 
• Garscube Sports Complex is an outdoor sports centre with six grass pitches, two synthetic pitches, tennis courts, and jogging tracks to name a few things.
• Queen Elizabeth University Hospital includes the Imaging Centre of Excellence for academic and research purposes.
• The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club is a dedicated social and study space for postgraduate students which includes single rooms as well as seminar rooms. The venue also has cafes, serving food and alcoholic beverages.
• The halls of residence on the campus accommodate around  3,500 students with great amenities.
