Overview
About
The newly created County Borough of West Ham in the UK launched the University of East London in 1892 after deciding to create a West Ham Technical Institute to serve the neighbourhood. Three separate institutions (West Ham, Walthamstow, and Dagenham) combined to become the North East London Polytechnic, which was established in 1970.
UEL is a career-focused university dedicated to assisting students in developing the abilities, emotional intelligence, and creativity necessary to succeed in the fast-paced society of today. The institution is a member of several international associations, including Universities UK, MillionPlus, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and the European University Association. The University of East London's acceptance rate stands at 39% as it accepts students from all over the world who come to study at this world-renowned university.
UEL, which has campuses in Stratford and the storied Royal Albert Dock, is at the epicentre of this industrial and creative revolution that serves as a significant worldwide gateway. The Docklands campus and accommodation for the university are situated in a wonderful, bustling neighbourhood right next to the river, with the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) just outside the door (and free UEL buses running to Stratford). Additionally, students reside in a lovely environment and are never far from the action and opportunities for work experience in central London.
On the Stratford site lies the well-known Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which has a tennis court, hockey rink, and swimming pool. UEL is always working to develop a flexible strategy for inclusion, diversity, and equality that is based on the institutional equity strategy. It is a cultural melting pot and is quite open to students from around the world. A specialised Centre for Student Success has been developed by UEL to offer a strong support system and ensure that students' employability and personalities improve.
