Program Overview

Refine your research skills and develop advanced scientific and technical expertise with a one-year Masters by Research degree in Biological Sciences. Choose your preferred research area from our department's active research programme based on four overlapping research themes: Healthy Ageing and Molecular Medicine; Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services; Sustainable Engineering and Food Security; and Data and Technology Resources. You will learn alongside academic staff working at the frontiers of knowledge in their particular fields.

Entry Requirement
Students who have successfully completed a Bachelors degree in an appropriate subject with good grades/GPA will be considered for entry to a Royal Holloway Master's degree programme. Exact requirements will depend upon the programme you are planning to study at Royal Holloway and the university you have studied at, but departments will usually require an overall grade between a 55% to 65%.
Students who have successfully completed a Masters degree in an appropriate subject with good grades/GPA will be considered for entry to a Royal Holloway MPhil/PhD programme.
