MSc Neuroscience and Translational Medicine

You will gain a thorough training in translational medicine, with a particular focus on unmet needs in diseases of the nervous system. You will critically discuss the challenges associated with developing better therapies in various diseases. At the end of your studies, you will have a detailed knowledge of the drug discovery and development process, and of clinical trial design and methodology. You will also gain insight into the regulatory environment.

We have a large number of specialists teaching on the course, and many are world leaders in their fields. These include academics from other institutions, clinicians, and specialists from the pharmaceutical industry.

Degree requirements
A 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in Neuroscience, Pharmacology or a related discipline.

Applicants with a 2:2 degree will be considered on an individual basis.

Student Visa Regulations

If you will require a Student visa to study in the UK, you must meet the minimum English Language requirements to meet the UKVI regulations.  The minimum IELTS requirement is 5.5 in all four skills (Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening).  However, many of our courses require higher grades.

Pre-sessional English Language Courses

If you fall slightly below our standard English language requirements, you may consider one of our Pre-sessional English courses.  Please note that you will require a UK government approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) for entry to our Thirteen week pre-sessional courses.  Currently, only IELTS for UKVI, PTE Academic (UKVI), LanguageCert International ESOL SELT and Trinity College London, Integrated Skills in English (ISE) are accepted. Alumni of this MSc programme have gone on to take up roles as clinical trial coordinators, or have taken on graduate roles in healthcare companies.

Some have become medical and science writers, begun marketing and communications roles or become research scientists in the academic or industry sector.

Some students have returned to their clinical work/study and others are pursuing a career as independent scientific investigators. Graduates have also enrolled in PhD studies or gone on to medical school.
