The Insurance Law LLM equips you with the knowledge, skills and practical tools you will need to understand insurance law, its practice and how it is regulated. Study to practice law in the insurance industry, the second biggest industry in the UK after banking. Course Content
Your studies will cover all aspects of the principles and regulation of insurance. You can also choose some modules from the wider LLM offering. Please note that not all modules will be available in any one year.

You will be offered a varied selection of taught modules from which you can choose, enabling you to gear your qualification to set you on your desired career trajectory. You do not have to choose your modules until you have had the opportunity to learn about them in greater detail during your comprehensive induction period.

You will have voluntary access to an excellent series of lectures in Critical Thinking and Writing in Law to help you to improve your writing and research in law skills.

Structure
You will need to complete 180 credits in total.
- Six compulsory modules over 2 semesters (150 credits)
- Compulsory 10,000-word dissertation (30 credits)

Degree requirements
A 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in Chemistry or a degree with a significant Chemistry component.

Applicants with a good 2:2 will be considered on an individual basis.

Student Visa Regulations

If you will require a Student visa to study in the UK, you must meet the minimum English Language requirements to meet the UKVI regulations. The minimum IELTS requirement is 5.5 in all four skills (Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening). However, many of our courses require higher grades.

Pre-sessional English Language Courses

If you fall slightly below our standard English language requirements, you may consider one of our Pre-sessional English courses. Please note that you will require a UK government approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) for entry to our Thirteen week pre-sessional courses. Currently, only IELTS for UKVI, PTE Academic (UKVI), LanguageCert International ESOL SELT and Trinity College London, Integrated Skills in English (ISE) are accepted.
