Overview

About

Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) is a public university located in Norwich, England. It focuses on providing higher education in arts, design, and media. The university is a part of two universities, the other being the University of East Anglia. The Norwich School of Design was founded in 1845 with the goal of producing designers for nearby industries, and that is where the university's history began. It was founded by members and admirers of the "Norwich School of Painters," the only provincial British group to gain recognition for its landscape paintings on a global scale.

The School was given the authority to confer its own degrees up to the Master's level in November 2007 and changed its name to Norwich University College of the Arts.  The school gained university status in 2013.

The Consortium for Research Excellence Support and Training (CREST), a consortium of higher education institutions relating to research excellence, was founded by Norwich University of the Arts. Moreover, NUA is renowned for its creative and innovative approach to teaching and has a strong reputation in the arts community.

MA programmes in communication design, curation, fashion, fine art, games, moving images and sound, photography, and textile design are among the postgraduate courses offered. Numerous fields of the arts, design, and media also offer MPhil and PhD research degrees.
