In addition to the compulsory course, you will complete a dissertation and further courses to the value of two units from a range of options. Options include more advanced statistical modelling, computational methods, statistical computing and advanced probability theory, as well as specialist courses from the Departments of Methodology, Mathematics, Economics and Social Policy.
 

Statistical Inference: Principles, Methods and Computation
Provides comprehensive coverage of some fundamental aspects of probability and statistics methods and principles.

Courses to the value of two units from a range of options. 

Dissertation
An independent research project on a subject of your choice. 

Minimum entry requirements for MSc Statistics (Research)

Upper second class honours (2:1) degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, including a substantial amount of statistics and mathematics.

Competition for places at the School is high. This means that even if you meet the minimum entry requirement, this does not guarantee you an offer of admission.

Every graduate student is charged a fee for their programme.

The fee covers registration and examination fees payable to the School, lectures, classes and individual supervision, lectures given at other colleges under intercollegiate arrangements and, under current arrangements, membership of the Students' Union. It does not cover living costs or travel or fieldwork.
