About
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is a public research university located in London, England. LSE is situated in the Central London neighbourhood of Camden and Westminster, close to the line separating Covent Garden and Holborn. Sidney Webb, Beatrice Webb, Graham Wallas, and George Bernard Shaw founded the London School of Economics in 1895. LSE joined the University of London in 1900 and launched its degree programme in 1901. Prior to 2008, LSE awarded University of London degrees before starting to grant degrees in its name.
Over 11,000 students attend LSE out of which 70% are international students. The LSE has students from 155 different countries, and it has the second-highest proportion of international students. Despite its name, the school is divided into 25 academic departments and institutes that carry out research and teaching in a variety of basic and applied social sciences.
The institution provides a range of courses through its departments of sociology, methodology, accounting, and economics, among others. Additionally, it provides specialist courses in areas including mathematics, statistics, philosophy, law and geography. It is the only university in the UK devoted completely to the study and investigation of social sciences. Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees are all offered at LSE. LSE Entry Requirements
Students must apply online and provide supporting documentation. Following are the essential LSE entry requirements, academic standards and language competency tests required for applying to the various programmes the university provides -
